Jism 2'' a marketing genius: Arunoday Singh
Actor Arunoday Singh, who has been tapped to play one of the two male leads in " Jism 2", says the film is a marketing genius.
Be it producer Mahesh Bhatt's entry into the 'Bigg Boss' house to offer the lead role to adult film star Sunny Leone or the nude promotional pictures, ever since its announcement the film has been grabbing eyeballs.
And Arunoday says it will work in the favour of the film.
"The film is a marketing genius. Every move by the makers is very smart and that is the reason the film was being talked about so much even before it went on floors. Now, it is up to us to pull it off," Arunoday told PTI.
The 28-year-old actor, who alongwith actor Randeep Hooda will play Leone's love interest in the sequel to the John-Bipasha starrer, was all praises for his female co-star.
"She (Sunny) is very beautiful. I don't judge anyone by the work the person has done in the past. She may be a porn star but 'Jism 2' is not a porn film. People should keep that in mind," said the actor.
Asked if the attention showered on the leading lady bothers him, he said, "I have no problems with the fact that the focus is on Sunny. I care only about my work. I care about my role. I don't care who they cast, how they make it, how they promote it. My job is to act."
Arunoday, who was the first one to be signed on for Madhur Bhandarkar's ambitious film "Heroine", was booted out of the film after actress Aishwarya Rai was replaced by Kareena Kapoor. He says he still does not know the real reason behind the move.
"I don't know what went wrong with Heroine. I was even paid for it. I was supposed to play a much younger man romancing an older woman (played by Aishwarya) but I guess with the change in cast they had to change the story line. They wanted someone of the same age and so I was replaced.
Deepika in Shankar's next film?
Shankar is considering Padukone for his next film opposite Vikram
This is one announcement everyone in B-Town is waiting for. India's highest paid filmmaker Shankar - who put himself on the global map with the Rajinikanth-starrer Robot (2010) that grossed over Rs 200 crores,
followed by the Tamil remake of 3 Idiots called Nanban (2012) - will return to the big screen with Tamil superstar Vikram, who romanced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Mani Ratnam's Raavan.
Our source says, "Shankar's next film will star the National Award-winning actor and will have music by AR Rahman. It will be shot simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. In all likelihood, Deepika Padukone will play Vikram's love interest in the film."
TOI messaged Deepika, who is currently shooting in Manali with Ranbir Kapoor, but she chose not to comment. Her spokesperson too refused to confirm this development because talks are still in the very early stage. However, our source adds, "Deepika is kicked about being considered by Shankar, the man who gave Ash megahits like Jeans (1998) and Robot. Also, this will be her second big outing in the South after Kochadaiyaan, in which she stars opposite Rajinikanth, and is likely to give her an elevated positioning there."

Aishwarya to return in a South film?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is being sent a dozen odd scripts on a weekly basis.
Ever though the actress - who is on 'maternity leave' - has not sent out feelers that she's ready to make her comeback, producers have been trying to woo her. A source reveals that Ash is likely to make her return to the big screen in a South film, and not a Hindi film.
The source adds, "Even though B-town producers are ready to be accomodating and adjust the dates as per her schedule, Ash might end up saying yes to a South film. There's a woman-centric role that has got her excited and if dates work out then she's likely to make the announcement soon."
